Art classes & painting instruction with Lisa DePinto.
Learn drawing, painting, figurative work, still life, and painting from life — with a focus on observation, composition, light, color, and personal expression.
Teaching has been part of Lisa’s life for decades. Whether you’re picking up a brush for the first time or returning to painting after years away, her classes meet you where you are — with instruction, encouragement, and the tools to grow.
Essentials of Building a Painting
Lisa is faculty at the North Shore Art League in Winnetka, where she is described as a professional figurative, portrait, and mural artist who has exhibited locally and in private collections.
This class is for students learning how to start and complete a painting — and for experienced painters who want to keep growing with instruction and encouragement. It covers inspiration and subject matter, painting approaches, sketch work, composition and design, light and dark patterns, color, demonstrations, discussions, masterworks, and contemporary painters, across multiple mediums.
